Kids Summer Reading Log

Kids Summer Calendar

Kids Summer Reading Challenge 2018

  • You can start reading on June 18, 2018. Return your log no later than August 18, 2018.
  • Color in a square for every 30 minutes you spend reading or are read to.
  • If you reach a “Spin the Wheel” space, bring your log to the Children’s Room desk and spin the prize wheel.
  • This program is open to children from birth through fifth grade. Going into sixth grade in the Fall? You can participate in either the Kids or Teen Club.

Why should I read this summer? The Summer Reading Challenge is a program designed to keep your brain sharp all summer long. Simply record how much time you read this summer to earn prizes!

What if my child prefers to be read to or can’t read on their own yet? Being read to or listening to audiobooks also counts. Just track the amount of time you spend listening or reading a book together.

How do I earn awesome prizes? You earn prizes by completing your reading log.  Every time you reach a “Spin the Wheel” Space, stop by Albion District Library to spin the prize wheel. You can also wait until your log is completed and turn it in at once. Read as much as you want this summer, but kids can only receive prizes for two completed logs this year. Prizes are limited and may change throughout the summer.

What books can I read? You can read anything you want! In addition to books, you can also read comic books or listen to audiobooks. You can even read on your phone or a tablet!

Program starts June 18, 2018 and ends August 18, 2018
