Join us for stories, songs, art, and interactive centers that encourage the development of reading, writing, and community skills. We will provide a light meal or snacks and a gift certificate to each registered, qualifying family that attends. This series is made possible by a generous grant from the Albion-Homer United Way.

For parents and their children ages 2-6. Older or younger siblings may attend, but at least one child ages 2-6 and their parent or caregiver must be present in order to participate. Registration is required. You must register for each event separately.



Family Literacy Program: Lucky Ducks

Tuesday, December 11th at 6:00 p.m. in the Naomi Lane Room at Albion District Library

Join us for a fun evening of fun, reading, writing, play, songs, and art.  For parents and their children ages 2-6. All registered families in attendance will receive a gift certificate! Free and open to the public, registration is required and space is limited. This event is sponsored by the Albion-Homer United Way.

Library visits are available, free of charge to daycares, schools, homeschool groups, and other community groups in the area. We are also happy to maintain a presence at any local event where we can meet with families and share our services. Program types vary by age but include storytime visits, family literacy training, database and research instruction, book talks, crafts, and more! Please contact Mrs. Jamie at to set up a visit. Bringing a group to the library? If you are coming to research or just want a tour, we can generally accommodate same-day requests.

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a program where each month, from the day a child is born until his/her fifth birthday, a carefully selected book arrives in the mail.

  • Children ages 9 and up may utilize the Library unattended.
  • Children ages 8 and under will be referred to Albion Public Safety if Library staff members are unable to contact a parent or caregiver by closing time.
  • For the safety of all minor library patrons, Library staff will not confirm or deny the whereabouts of a minor to anyone other than a public safety officer, nor will they verbally page a minor for a phone call using the Library telephone.
