About

The Albion District Library empowers people to read, to explore, and to imagine a world of possibilities.

The original Carnegie building, now the Children’s Room (second floor) and Learning Center (lower level), was constructed in 1919, with a $17,500 grant from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation. An addition built in 1975 tripled the library’s square footage, and added handicapped access at the main entrance on Ash Street and elevator service to all levels.

Renovated in 2002, the Ellen Pantaleo Children’s Room exemplifies the Arts and Crafts style of the original building.
