Books
Our Adult Room has a large and growing collection of both fiction and non-fiction. Our fiction collection is divided into General Fiction, Mystery, Romance, Western, and Science Fiction/Fantasy sections, with labels marking them for easy browsing. We also have labels on our Inspirational Fiction, African-American Fiction, Suspence Fiction, and Historical Fiction denoting those items in our general fiction collection.
Our non-fiction collection is arranged with the Dewey Decimal System, placing items on similar topics near each other. Simply use one of our online catalog stations to find the area you are interested in, or ask for help from our friendly staff at the Library's Front Desk.
The Adult Room also has a growing collection of Large Print books, in both fiction and non-fiction, also with genre labels for easy browsing. If you are looking for a specific title or author in large print, please ask at the Front Desk. If we don't have it, we can order it for you through our MeLCat Interlibrary Loan system.
The Ellen Pantaleo Children's Room has collections of board books, easy readers, music CDs, audiobooks, and popular reading list selections, in addition to the general fiction and non-fiction collections for children. The easy reader collection is broken down into four categories. The first category is for beginning readers and the books contain large pictures and few words. The second category of books are for children that can recognize some sight words and can sound words out. The third category is for children that can read smoothly and contain more advanced vocabulary. The final category of books is for those that can read without a lot of help and are generally chapter books. For more information on the Children's Room collections, please visit the "Kids" section from our Home Page, or through the "By Age" option under the "Services" tab above.
