Search engines

Magazines, Newspapers, and more...

Most times searching for answers on the Internet requires the use of a search engine.  Such websites provide textboxes where one may enter a search term (I want to know about peafowl!) and then receive a list of related website links.

By popular demand the library features Google here, but you will find a host of alternative search engines if you click on Search Engines Galore.

Serious researchers may wish to visit the Michigan Electronic Library (MEL), a "virtual library" with resources selected by librarians to meet the reference needs of Michigan's libraries and citizens.   The Magazines, ebooks and research link will take you directly to MEL's database site which includes Firstsearch, Galegroup Infotrac and many other full-text databases for authorized users, from home, work, school or library.  You can even download e-books from this site. If you have any questions, the library staff will be happy to assist you.  Happy hunting!
