October 3 – NOVA: “Ghosts of Stonehenge”
Who built Stonehenge and why? Discover how the last decade of groundbreaking archaeological digs has revealed major new clues to Britain’s enigmatic 5,000- year-old site and the people who constructed it. NOVA (60 min.)

 October 10 – Secrets of the Dead: “After Stonehenge”
A new discovery of an ancient site began to emerge from a quarry in England. What Archaelologists found is simply unheard of: a 3000-year-old settlement that would have risen above the marshy fens, made up of well-built houses on stilts. The ancient artifacts are telling a new story about Bronze Age life in Britain.  Secrets of the Dead (60 min.)

 October 17 – NOVA: “Artic Ghost Ship”
160 years ago, the Franklin Expedition to chart the Northwest Passage vanished. NOVA is on board as a Canadian team makes a breakthrough discovery of one of Franklin’s lost ships-a vital new clue to the fate of the ill-starred expedition. NOVA (60 min.)

 October 24 – NG: Ghost Ships of the Great Lakes
It takes him and a team of elite technical divers more than 20 miles off Milwaukee where they discover the wreck of one of Lake Michigans lost queens. It takes them to the remote waters of Lake Superior where they risk their lives to determine the identity of yet another lost ship. And it takes us into the forgotten life of a brave and stubborn woman who lived, and died, on these wild waters. Whether her presence cursed these lost ships, or a more earthly explanation can be found, the Great Lakes reputation as a graveyard for mariners stands firm. NG (60 min.)

October 31 – Secrets of the Dead: “Vampire Legend”
Bram Stoker penned his gothic horror Dracula and popularized the vampire myth – but evidence now suggests those myths originating in England, not Eastern Europe. Oxford professor John Blair follows clues that offer insight into the formation of the myths. The cases hint at a belief that the dead could rise and bring fear to the living, that predates Eastern European lore and forcing a reexamination of the modern vampire legend.  Secrets of the Dead (60 min.)
