Join us for stories, songs, art, and interactive centers that encourage the development of reading, writing, and community skills.We will provide a light meal or snacks and a $20 Albion Bucks Gift Certificate to each registered, qualifying family that attends. This series is made possible by a generous grant from the Albion-Homer United Way.

For parents and their children ages 2-6. Older or younger siblings may attend, but at least one child ages 2-6 and their parent or caregiver must be present in order to participate. Registration is required. You must register for each event separately.

Family Literacy Program:  Bright Lights, Big City

Select one of the following sessions:

  • Thursday, Sept. 14th 6:00-7:00 @ Crowell School This program is   connected to the GSRP “Meet the Teacher Night” and is open to  families with children 4 and under.
  • Tuesday. Sept 26th 11:00-12:15 @  Charles Snyder Building
  • Tuesday, Sept. 26th 3:00-4:15 @ Charles Snyder Building

Join us for stories, songs, writing, play, and art that are all themed around the big city. For parents and their children ages 2-6. Older and younger siblings are welcome to participate but there must be at least one child between the ages of 2 and 6.  All qualifying, registered families in attendance will receive a meal $20 Albion Bucks gift certificate.

Free and open to the public, registration is required and space is limited.

The Crowell event is during the Great Start Readiness Program’s (GSRP) meet the teacher night and is geared towards our families with children 4 and under who may be attending or interested in the preschool programs available at Crowell.

Family Literacy Program:  Wild West

Select one of the following:

  • Tuesday, October 17, 6:00-7:15 @ Albion District Library
  • Tuesday. October 24, 11:00-12:15 @  Charles Snyder Building
  • Tuesday, October 24, 3:00-4:15 @ Charles Snyder Building

Join us for a kid friendly taste of the wild west with stories, songs, writing, play, and art.  For parents and their children ages 2-6. Older and younger siblings are welcome to participate but there must be at least one child between the ages of 2 and 6.  All qualifying, registered families in attendance will receive a meal at morning and evening session and a snack at the 4:00 session plus a $20 Albion Bucks gift certificate

Albion Bucks Policy for Family Literacy Nights

 

1. Albion Bucks are limited in quantity and are not guaranteed.

2. Families must pre-register for events to receive Albion Bucks, there is no registration during the event. Event registration closes when we reach our capacity, or the day before an event, which ever comes first.

 3. Adult must be present at the event to receive a set of Albion Bucks. You are welcome to bring a child from another family; however, you can not take Albion Bucks home to a parent who did not attend.

 4. Families can receive only set of Albion Bucks per event.Children may not be split up among adults for the purpose of receiving multiple sets of Albion Bucks. For example, when two or more adults attend together with multiple children from the same household they will receive only one set of Albion Bucks.

5. Families must have at least one child age 6 or under in attendance to receive Albion Bucks.

6.Families who arrive more than 20 minutes after the beginning of the event will not receive Albion Bucks.

7. Families who leave early will not receive Albion Bucks. We distribute Albion Bucks during the last 15 minutes of the event
