April 5 –  Sacred Journeys: Jerusalem
In this landmark series, New York Times best-selling author Bruce Feiler travels with American pilgrims on six historic pilgrimages.  They set out from the ordinary and seek the extraordinary on journeys to spectacular places.

Jerusalem, home to Christians, Jews, and Muslims, draws believers from around the world. In this edition of the series, Bruce joins the trail of pilgrims from three Abrahamic traditions as they ground their faith during a time of crisis in this holiest of cities. PBS (60 min.)

April 12 –  Michigan Butterfly Network
Butterflies are powerful indicators of the quality and health of ecosystems. Sensitive to land use and habitat changes, many of our butterfly species have been declining in abundance due to habitat loss, fragmentation, and climate change. We must monitor both common and rare butterflies during the summer months and Ashley Wick, Director of the Kalamazoo Nature Center, will explain how she needs your help!

Monitoring butterfly populations over several years allows us to better understand butterfly ecology, population changes, and to direct attention to species in decline before it is too late. LIVE PRESENTATION (60 MIN.)

April 19 – Great Estates of Scotland: Kincardine Castle
This four-part series brought to you by PBS gives you an in-depth look on some of Scotland’s most regal estates. Featured in this edition is the 70-room Kincardine Castle, home to only two people, Andrew and Nicky Bradford.

In a little over a century, the castle and its surrounding 3,000-acre estate  have gone from being a trifling extravagance for its fabulously rich owners to presenting a passionate but ongoing struggle to keep it afloat for its present-day occupants. PBS (60 min.)

April 26 –  American Legion Poppies: More Than a Pretty Flower!
The poppy represents a part of history that is lost to many. It is a rebirth, but also a reminder of sacrifice. Come share in honoring soldiers service by learning more about this valuable tradition of handing out poppies in May.

Welcome the American Legion Auxiliary as they explain the importance of the poppy to their organization and everyone else. LIVE PRESENTATION (60 min.)
